Sunday Crash Claims Life Of Lynch WomanA fatal accident claimed the lives of two people this past Sunday east of O'Neill on Hwy. 20/275. The SUV driven by Vicki Nielsen came to rest on the south ditch of Hwy 20/275.

According to a report from the Nebraska State Patrol, a Ford Fairmont driven by Floyd Lane Eagle Pipe of Rapid City, SD, attempted to pass another vehicle in front of him and collided nearly head on with a 2004 Infinity SUV driven by Vicki Nielsen of Lynch.

Eagle Pipe was pronounced dead at the scene and Nielsen was transported to Avera St. Anthony's where she was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing by the State Patroll.

The highway was closed from the time of the accident till about 8:00 p.m. when it was reopened by the Nebraska Department of Roads. The car driven by Floyd Lane Eagle Pipe was destroyed in the fatal collision on Sunday.
