Inman Fires Devastate Families

Inman House Fire This residence in Inman occupied by the Ken Hansen family was totally devasted by the fire Friday afternoon.

A house fire Wednesday evening and one on Friday afternoon left two Inman families homeless.

The first fire Wednesday evening was at the Neil Tompkins residence located southeast of Inman. The call was turned into the dispatch center around, 9:00 p.m.

The O'Neill Fire Department responded calling in mutual aid from Ewing, Page and the Chambers departments. Upon arrival at the scene the fire had made its way through the first and second floors of the structure and had burnt through the roof.

The structure was a total loss and the departments remained, scene till early morning. The O'Neill department remained on scene till 5:00, a.m. putting out hot spots. The area departments used over 50,000 gallons of water in battling the blaze.

On Friday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. the O'Nei11 Fire Department was called to a structure fire at the Ken Hansen residence in Inman.

The residence was engulfed in flames upon arrival. The O'Neill department again called for mutual aid from Page and Ewing. The fire was stopped but not before the inside of the house was devastated.

Both fires resulted in the occupants losing all of their possessions and the total destruction of the Tompkins' residence. .

A benefit soup supper will be held for both families Sunday; March 19 at the Inman Fire Hall. Serving will start at 5:00 p.m. and run till 7:00. p.m. All proceeds will go to the two families.
