TRUCK FIRE - The O'Neill Fire Department was called to a truck fire on south second street
Wednesday morning.
The O'Neill Fire Department has been kept unusually busy the past two weeks.
On Monday, June 10 the fire department was called for mutual aid to a wheat field fire located a few miles west of the county maintenance shed north of Page. On Tuesday the fire department responded to another mutual aid call, this one from Spencer when a wheat field fire was started on the north side of Eagle Creek hill.
On Thursday O'Neill Fire responded to a tractor fire four miles south of Inman.
Early Friday afternoon Stuart requested mutual aid from O'Neill to a fire in a hay meadow.
On Saturday O'Neill Fire responded to a two car accident at 10th and Douglas, One person was injured and transported to Avera St. Anthony's Hospital.
On Saturday evening the department responded to a house fire at 225 South First in O'Neill. The fire was contained to the attic but the home suffered extreme smoke damage. The department was on scene until 1:30 a.m.
On Sunday five members from the O'Neill department responded to a call for help from the Valentine Fire Department. The volunteers took shovels and rakes to help put out hot spots. O'Neill Volunteer fire members were Rachel Kohlman, Phillip Summers, Adam Kurtz, Jeremy Johnson, and Mike Davis.
