To the firefighters of the O'Neill Volunteer Fire Dept.

The City of Valentine and the Valentine City Council would like to express our appreciation to you for your assistance with fighting the "Big Rock Fire." Over 50 fire departments and numerous volunteers responded to the call for help. We believe that the enormous number of people who came to fight the fire is one of the main reasons the fire was contained as quickly as it was. Without the generous efforts of people such as yourselves, the Big Rock Fire would. have caused much more devastation to our community than it did. Thank you again for your dedication to fire fighting, your concern for the safety of others, and your willingness to respond quickly to communities in need.
