Rodman Honored For Years Of Service To Department

The O'Neill Fire Department held their annual awards night last Saturday evening,

Mayor Bill Price was on hand to honor fireman Jim Rodman. Mayor Price declared June 4, 2007 Jim Rodman day in O'Neill.

Mr. Rodman is a 40 year plus veteran of the department and for numerous years Jim has taken it upon himself to go above the call of duty and keep the department's apparatus in top notch condition.

Jim has spent countless hours away from his business and family in order to maintain and keep the city and rural equipment in top notch condition. It is not uncommon to find Jim at the fire department on any given day either doing something complex as changing out a part on a fire truck or checking tire pressure in an ambulance to ensure that it is safe while running down the road.

The department also gave out its EMT and fireman of the Year awards going to Rachel Kohlmen and Chris Slack.

Receiving their 20 year awards were Assistant Chief Roger Miller who also was lauded for his 15 years as assistant chief on the department, Gary Pistulka, John Schindler and Dale Waterman. Ten year award was given to Terry Miles, five year awards were given to Shad Thompson and Brenda Graham. One year awards were given to Adam Kurtz and Jeremy Johnson.
