Fire Safety At St. Mary's Grade School
By Karla Kopejtka

On Friday, Oct. 19, St. Mary's Grade School celebrated fire safety along with Children's Day. It was an eventful day at St. Mary's Grade School. The O'Neill Fire Department brought the fire truck to the grade school to get the children excited about fire safety. The preschoolers got the privilege of going outside and seeing the fire truck. The O'Neill Fire Department talked about how to respond to the firepersons if the caught in a fire. The O'Neill Fire Department let the students try on some of the gear that the firepersons use during a fire. Each student got a sticker at the end of the discussion, which made them a "Junior Firefighter." All the students enjoyed having the O'Neill Fire Department come and taking the time out to come talk to St. Mary's Grade School about fire safety and fire prevention.
