The O'Neill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is a combination department with a Rural Board and an Ambulance Board. Funding is supplied by tax dollars, donations, State and Federal Grants, and ambulance revenues.

The O'Neill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is made up of 42 volunteer members, 35 firefighters and 29 EMT's. The average call volume for ambulance runs is 310 per year, 65 fires per year, 30 car -wrecks with injuries. We have 2 monthly meetings, with a training night the 4th Monday of each month.
